Seven-Ring-Core Erbium-Doped Fiber for OAM-MDM Amplification

Orbital angular momentum (OAM) mode division multiplexing (MDM) amplification in a seven-ring-core erbium-doped fiber (7-RC-EDF) has been experimentally demonstrated, which the 1 st -4 xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">th order OAM modes within each core of 7-RC-EDF can be supported. By combining with pump laser into 7-RC-EDF, 112 are predicted to amplified C-band net gain more than 22.36 dB differential modal (DMG) less 1.7 dB. The optical signal-to-noise ratio (OSNR) higher 30 As proof concept, signals three wavelengths were individually converted 2 xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">nd modes, respectively, and then injected together one ring 7-RC-EDF. 27.7 OSNR 22 was achieved. proposed wavelength (WDM) combined OAM-MDM technique verified its potential applications large-capacity communication systems.
